THE GRIND
COACHING IN PRESSURE SITUATIONS

13-9, it still strikes fear in the heart of all USC Trojan fans. The number 2 team in the nation had only one hurdle left before playing in the National Championship game. Unfortunately for them they were playing a defense that was being coached by Dewayne Walker. In one of the most stunning upsets in college football history, UCLA's Defensive Coordinator Dewayne Walker held the Trojans high powered offense to 9 points! " They kept us from doing what we wanted to do" (Pete) Carroll admitted afterward, noting that Walker had always been a good strategist against a pro-style offensive set, which USC operated. "It's been a long time since someone stopped us like that."
